As is the case for most buyers, I purchased this product for medical billing purposes. I'll go into detail with some point below, but overall 3 stars is fair for this product. The price after tax is not bad nor good. The quality of the product and the self-adhesive is average as well. The only stand out component of these envelopes is the ease of use with the adhesive-to-adhesive sealing. But, this one good point gets countered by poor packaging that degraded the quality of the adhesive. Details:1. Price: At the time of my purchase, and after tax, this purchase rang in at roughly $0.08 a envelope. There is a good amount of cheaper self-adhesive envelopes here on amazon, and but there is only a few cheaper self-adhesive Claim Form envelopes. However, out of the claim form variety, these had the most reasonable shipping speed to cost ratio. So if you need envelopes quickly like I did, these would be reasonable for you.2. Self-Adhesive: They market the envelope as "Self-Seal". This is true. In the past, my concept of self-seal was also the pull-away strip from the envelop flap that would then reveal the sticky substance that then would stick to the body of the envelope. This is not the case for these envelopes. These envelopes all have the adhesive material pre-smeared on both the top flap and the body. It appears that the adhesive does not stick to much else than itself, so there isnt a problem of envelopes getting stuck when storing them together, however the strength of the stickiness is not too great. Which leads to my next point:3. Quality of Self-Adhesive: The self adhesive strips as described above are very simple. You just shut the envelope, and the glue on top sticks to the glue on the bottom. However, the strength of the seal seems to vary greatly from envelope to envelope. At its worst, there are some envelopes that the adhesive will simply refuse to seal unto itself. At its best, it is about 75% the strength of a typical wet-seal envelope. Now, the reason for the large discrepancy in seal strength is due to the way the envelopes are stored at the sellers site. These boxes appear to be exposed to the elements when stored at the manufacturing facility. Out of the 5 boxes I received, 3 of them were broken and opened, but, two of them were pristine. For the broken boxes, a lot of debris got into them. This caused the adhesive part of the envelopes sitting on the far ends of the boxes to collect the debris resulting in diminished surface area for the seal, and also dust collection on the seal reduced its strength. The envelopes closer to the center were better functioning as they were protected from the debris by the other envelopes. So when you store these at your office, make sure to shield them from dust.4. Quality of Packaging: Id give this 1.5 stars. As said above, this sale of 2500 envelopes comes separated into 5 boxes, each containing 500 envelopes. 3 out of my 5 boxes were badly damaged. I'm talking broken lids and split sides which in the case of this product, greatly effected product quality by rendering 1/4 of each box unusable. The debris stuck to the envelopes was unsavory as well, there was hair and other gunk strung about it leading me to believe they were in that condition for a long time, and the boxers at the seller's site obviously saw this, but still packed them away to be shipped to me. The 5 boxes I got were packed into another large box to contain them all. This box was even more beat up than the ones inside. This box looked like it had been used as a punching bag. The sides were torn and the tape was peeling away. All together I was very disappointed with the poor packaging and the packing overall degraded the product quality.Overall, im on the fence if I would buy this again. Its closer to 2 stars than 3. If the packaging was better and if there was more consistency with the seal strength this would be a 4 star product.EDIT: After my first order, I ordered these envelopes once more and the quality of product was much much better. The boxes were each individually sealed which increased the strength of the adhesive due to it not being exposed to the elements and air contaminants. After that order I ordered another, and it too was better quality. Since my first order I have ordered this product 4 more times and each subsequent time the quality has been up to par. Im updating my rating from 3 stars to 4.I received the envelops but they were the wrong size. I called for a return ticket which I received but as of this date, I have not received a refund. There has been plenty of time for this to have taken place. I really would like my money back.Good product for the cost. Provides ample security tint and glue for sealing. I would reccomend over Staple's comparable productA+A+A+A+ awesome company to deal with. They dealt with a pricing issue with the utmost integrity and stellar customer service and therefore have gained a customer for life! i WOULD GIVE THEM MY HIGH RECOMMENDATION
